Hybrid

Hybrid was the first project I did in my chosen specailist area: Textiles and Fashion. We had to collect a Men's suit jacket, and two shirts from a chosen cahrity shop. Once back at uni we were told to get into pairs and take photographs of the bought garments on your partner, however the brief was to stlye them as though you were an alien and didn't know how to wear them.

We then had to deconstruct the garments to see what kind of material and textures we had to work with. The idea of the project was to reconstruct the decinstruceted into another wearable. As my interests steer towards textiles I was interested in the materials themselves as oppsed to garments so I cut up the shirts into strips and cut slits into square pieces of the jacket, I then wove the strips into the jacket. As the final outcome had to be wearable I used the buttons from the shirts and jacket to create woven cuffs.

Lastly I styled the cuffs on models and edited them using Photoshop.
