Alternative Image Making
As one of our self directed projects we were asked to take a house hold object and think of a way in which we could draw without actually drawing. I chose a teapot as I thought it was an interesting shape therefore had a lot of potential. I experimented with many different techniques such as cutting into an apple and leaving it to go brown, scratching into burnt toast and creating the shape using tea leaves. For my final outcome I wanted to portray my interest within art and design which is textiles particularly woven textiles, so I took a picture of the teapot and then printed two identiacl pictures off, I cut one into horizontal strips and the other in vertical, I then wove the two together, this distorted the image and also gave an interesting pattern.
